How much does it cost to register?
Current registration fees are set at $70 per player. We do offer a sibling discount of $10 per additional sibling being registered. 

We are new to the league. How do I register my player?
To register your new player online, please follow these directions:
• Click "REGISTER" tab
• Enter Email Address
• Enter Desired Username
• Enter Desired Password. 
• Enter Password again to confirm.
• Click ‘Create Account’
• The system will email you your username and a link to reset your password. 
• Under the ‘Email Account Information’ click on the small link to ‘Continue’ Creating New Account
• Enter Primary Parent's Contact Information, then Secondary Parent's Contact Information, then click ‘Invite Account Holder & Continue’
• Add New Participant (Player): enter Player's information (if you have another child to register, then click "ADD ANOTHER PARTICIPANT", once enter all Participant's information, then click "NEXT"
• Select the available Program (team), then click "NEXT"
All players over 8 years old will be assessed for the age and skill level appropriate team. 
• Shopping Cart Details: verify the Program(s) in the shopping cart, then click "NEXT"
• Enter the Additional Participant Information, then click "NEXT"
• Volunteer: select volunteer position (optional), then click "NEXT"
• Checkout: Select pay with credit card, enter credit card information, then click "SUBMIT ORDER"
• A confirmation email will confirm the registration is completed


What equipment am I required to provide for my player?
Each player is responsible for providing their own baseball glove, cleats, and baseball pants. The color of the baseball pants for game days will be assigned by your player's coach once uniform shirt colors have been determined. Practice pants may be any color. 

Can my player wear metal cleats?
Metal cleats are not allowed. 

Can my player wear shorts to practice?
We ask that players wear pants to all practices. Coaches might not always announce when they will be practicing sliding or other activities that require pants. 

What equipment does the league provide?
Havelock Little League provides catcher's gear, batting helmets, and bats. Your player is welcome to purchase their own equipment, but this is not required. 

What safety gear is required?
Little League International requires that all male players wear athletic supporters. 

What are the rules for bats?
Tee Ball: Bats are required to be 26 inches and shorter AND have a USA Baseball mark with text that reads 'ONLY FOR USE WITH APPROVED TEE BALLS'. Tee Ball bats that were produced or purchased PRIOR to the implementation of the new standard, can be certified using an Approved Tee Ball Sticker via the USA Baseball Tee Ball Sticker Program. Minors/Majors (Machine Pitch and Player Pitch): Bats cannot be longer than 33 inches in length, more more than 2-5/8 inches in diameter at its smallest part. If the bat is made of wood, it cannot be less than fifteen-sixteenth inches in diameter (seven-eighths inches for a bat less than 30 inches in length.) at its smallest part. Wood bats taped or fitted with a sleeve may not exceed sixteen inches from the small end. Solid one-piece wood barrel bats do not require a USA Basball logo. 

*If the certification mark on a bat are not legible, that bat cannot be used and shall be removed from the game.*

Do all divisions keep score?
No, Tee Ball does not keep score.

Are parents required to help?
Yes, parents will be required to help from time to time. You will be asked to help in the following ways throughout the season:
Scorekeeping - All home teams are required to provide an official scorekeeper. (Minor/Major Divisions only)
Concession Stand - All home teams are required to provide a concession stand worker. 
Pitch Count - All visiting teams are required to provide an official pitch counter.  (Minor/Major Divisions only)
Umpires - All visiting teams are required to provide an umpire. (Tee Ball only)

Do I need a background check? 
Yes, any adult that will be in contact with the players needs a background check. This includes helping with practice, umpiring (required for tee ball), coaching, managing, being team parent, etc. 

How do I get a background check? Is there a cost?
To get a background check done, you need to fill out a volunteer application form provided by Little League International. That form can be found at https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/volunteer-application/. No, there is no cost for a background check. 

How can my older child help?
Siblings that are 14 years of age or older are welcome to work in the concession stand. 

Can my child play with a cast?
No, any person with a cast is not allowed on the field of play. This also includes coaches and managers. Any person with a cast is not allowed to be outside the dugout. 

What are the sponsorship requirements? How much is a sponsorship?
The sponsorship requirements are quite simple. Fill out the 'Sponsorship Form' and submit your sponsor fee. Little League International does not allow alcohol establishments, tobacco establishments, or other adult focused establishments.  The name of the sponsor cannot have an alcohol or drug reference in the name. All sponsorship are subject to approval by Little League International.
